Unlock Your Potential

Cathalyst Consulting

Cathalyst Consulting is an organisation that engages in facilitating a change process that mobilizes the strengths and realizes the potential of an individual or an organization.

My Coaching Approach and Philosophy

Since 2006 I have provided freelance coaching and leadership training to executive and technical teams in diverse industries including Engineering, Financial Services, Mining, Telecommunications, Travel, Logistics, Construction, and Hospitality.

Organizations that I have done work for include ABB, Absa, Standard Bank, Vodacom, Bavin and Ass, ABI, Department of Health, Anglo Platinum, Group 5, FESTO, Saxon, Marriot Group, BMW. This has included teams, middle management, high talent professionals, executives all the way to C-suite

One of the ethical practices I stand by is the importance of the “chemistry” between my clients and I.

Have a free session with me where we can check if there is a trust relationship we can build.

The level of comfort, clarity of expectations and set clear outcomes is imperative in the relationship. Working at a deep level with clients requires trust in my abilities and just like I do in the coaching space we need to have a very clear understanding of how, why and when the coaching relationship will benefit us.

My reputation as a coach is at stake when I take on clients and so I only work within a relationship that is going to have a favourable outcome.

Coaching Methodologies trained in

David Rock – Neuroscience model

This stems out of a need to understand more about how we could be better leaders to be more effective at leading others and ourselves by engaging with what our brain tells us about being human. Key areas of focus include effective ddecision-making and problem-solving; emotional regulation; collaborating with and influencing others; and facilitating change. My coach training is in neuro-science, with my background in Rogerian psychology the neuro-science has supported me in action orientated coaching. It works with thinking and understanding the brain and how to use your thinking to create new habits.

Otto Scharma – the theory of U

Jennifer Harvey Gerber – The art of adult development.

I work with each coachee and coach them at where they are at using a neuroscience and a holistic coaching style where the coaches current mental models are explored and where we actively engage in crucial conversations to establish their potential and break down self-limiting beliefs, build confidence and improve performance. . The responsibility of the coaching engagement lies both in the coach and in the coachee being vested in a fulfilling, respectful and trusting relationship that encourages growth and change. After each coaching session I provide my coachees with relevant tools that encourage self- reflection and learning to sustain the growth path and achieve the goals that they have been set in their session.

What Some of My Clients have Said

Cathy provided me with coaching and helped me achieve results I would have never dreamed of. I transitioned in a marked way and feel I add more value to ABSA in terms of management of my staff and managing the change I experience on a continuous basis as the head of my division.

Sannette De Waal, ABSA

Cathy was the Director of Lifeline for 4 years and she led our organisation in a strategic and inspiring way. She grew the organisation is terms of capacity, financially and in streamlining systems to create better productivity. I had the honour of serving on the board that she reported into. I would like to endorse her skills and would recommend her.

Cynthia Kubeka

Cathy serviced Nashua for 4 years and always offered us a professional service we could count on. I endorse her skills and recommend her services.
